Job summary

Wipfli seeks a Senior Project Manager to lead large, complex client engagements with a focus on delivery excellence, resource optimization, and strong governance. You will partner with service leaders, consultants, and client leadership to ensure on-time, on-budget delivery with evolving scope and data considerations.

The role supports remote candidates, within Central/Eastern time zones, and requires travel ~15% across the Midwest and East Coast.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in business, technology, or related field or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• 7+ years of project management experience at a professional services firm or 10+ years in industry with 1+ year at a professional services firm.
• Proven experience leading multi-workstream programs.
• Ownership of engagement economics including budgeting, forecasting, and financial performance.
• Experience leading resource management including capacity planning and portfolio prioritization.
• Ability to operate in ambiguous environments with shifting scope.
• Strong understanding of SDLC frameworks and ability to train and enable teams.
• About 15% travel to client locations in the U.S.

Responsibilities

• Lead large, complex projects and portfolios with multiple workstreams, managing scope, schedule, budget, risk, and interdependencies.
• Own budget-to-actual performance, including forecasting, reconciliation, burn analysis, ETC, utilization, and margin impact.
• Translate delivery risk into financial, operational, and audit-relevant language; facilitate executive steering committees and governance forums.
• Define, implement, and enforce stage gates, delivery standards, and governance models across engagements.
• Use delivery data and metrics to drive informed decision‑making; develop and enhance delivery methodologies to improve consistency and scalability.
• Build executive-ready dashboards and narratives; present program status, risks, and recommendations to executives.
