Job summary

The Illinois Department of Public Health (IDPH) seeks a Diversity, Equity & Inclusion Manager within the Bureau of Human Resources to lead statewide DEI initiatives. You will support inclusive recruitment, provide expert guidance on culturally competent practices, and supervise assigned staff to strengthen services for diverse communities.

Responsibilities include coordinating legislative activity, developing internal DEI programs, and acting as a key resource for advancing inclusive workplace

Qualifications

• Requires knowledge, skill and mental development equivalent to completion of four (4) years of college.
• Five (5) or more years of experience leading a public or private organization related to diversity, equity and inclusion.
• Ability to develop and maintain effective working relationships with professionals, government agencies and organizations.

Responsibilities

• Lead development, implementation, and evaluation of statewide DEI initiatives.
• Support inclusive recruitment strategies across IDPH programs.
• Provide guidance on culturally competent practices to strengthen services for diverse communities.
• Supervise staff and coordinate legislative and policy activity related to diversity efforts.
