Job summary

Civicworks seeks an Equal Opportunity Specialist 3 to lead DEI functions for the New York Office for People with Developmental Disabilities, reporting to the Assistant Director of the DEI Office. The role involves supervising DEI staff, implementing strategic DEI initiatives, and managing partnerships on diversity practices.

The position requires strong leadership, systems-change expertise, and a deep commitment to advancing equity and accessibility across the agency and for the populations

Qualifications

• Eight years of experience in equal opportunity, diversity and inclusion, or human rights with supervisory exposure.
• Demonstrated expertise in DEI, accessibility practices, and cultural and linguistic competence.
• Experience leading teams, designing training programs, and implementing strategic initiatives.
• Strong written and oral communication for internal and external presentations.

Responsibilities

• Lead key DEI functions at the NY Office for People with Developmental Disabilities.
• Supervise DEI staff and manage engagement and data collection on DEI efforts.
• Design and deliver strategic DEI initiatives and training programs.
• Lead agency partnerships on diversity practices and equity initiatives.
