Job summary

Curtiss-Wright DS, Inc. is seeking a Principal Systems Engineer-Defense in Ashburn, VA to lead complex military vehicle systems integration and drive DoD program success.

You will guide requirements, architecture, and risk reduction while coordinating with customers and internal teams. The ideal candidate has 10+ years in DoD primes, expert DOORS and Cameo skills, and hands-on Linux/VxWorks experience, with SOSA/VPX and military-grade communication protocols.

Qualifications

• 10+ years experience with DoD primes or direct DoD support
• Expert in systems hardware/software development, integration and test for deployed military vehicles
• Proven leadership and cross-functional collaboration
• Strong problem solving and analytical abilities
• Experience with DOORS and Cameo
• Familiar with engineering tools like Clearquest, JIRA, Rational
• Proficiency with Linux and VxWorks systems
• Knowledge of SOSA/VPX standards and relevant serial protocols
• Understanding of MIL-STD-1553, RS422/RS485/RS232, 10G/100G Ethernet, PCIe, USB
• Experience with RTCA/DO-254/DO-178 and FAA certification a plus
• Proficiency with MS Office suite

Responsibilities

• Lead large technical teams to meet complex DoD customer requirements
• Represent CW as technical expert to customers and suppliers
• Translate requirements into low-risk solutions
• Produce technical documentation for customers and engineering teams
• Provide technical guidance to cross-functional teams
• Report status and plan to varied audiences
• Identify training to enhance team capabilities
• Assess technical performance of teams and individuals
