Qualifications

• 5+ years of software engineering or quantitative research with large-scale production systems.
• 2+ years post-graduate experience building and operating data-intensive platforms serving millions.
• 2+ years hands-on reinforcement learning or simulation-driven decision systems in production.
• Deep familiarity with Markov Decision Processes and Bellman-equation-based methods.
• Ability to diagnose failure modes in learned or optimized policies.
• Python 3.x proficiency; PyTorch or TensorFlow for policy networks.
• Experience with Ray RLlib for large-scale training.
• Experience with Databricks, PySpark, and Delta Lake for ML pipelines.
• Experience with MLflow for experiment tracking and model management.
• Experience shipping production systems, not just research prototypes.

Responsibilities

• Design, train, and improve reinforcement learning policies for Humana's Next Best Action platform.
• Instrument training pipelines and evaluate decision-making algorithms.
• Collaborate with data and platform engineers to deploy models at scale.
• Ensure system compliance with clinical eligibility rules and program objectives.
• Contribute to end-to-end software development including frontend/backend components and data integrations.
