Job summary

LONG Building Technologies is seeking a Controls Service Technician III in Casper, WY to support our FDD-driven service offerings for commercial HVAC systems. You will work with the Service Team to diagnose faults, tune controls, and optimize sequences of operation, while mentoring junior technicians.

Responsibilities include programming, calibration, and client training, with on-call duties and potential profit-sharing participation.

Qualifications

• Associate degree or service experience equivalent.
• 5+ years of DDC/BAS control system construction or service experience.
• 4 years of customer-facing experience.
• 2+ years of DDC/BAS programming and integration experience.
• Valid driver’s license to operate a company vehicle.
• Experience with commercial HVAC control systems and BAS installation.
• Knowledge of BACnet, Modbus, and LON protocols.
• Ability to read control diagrams and technical drawings.
• Strong communication and customer service skills.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate faults and diagnostics with the FDD platform and advise on actions.
• Analyze programming logic and optimize SoO for faults.
• Determine best actions based on FDD findings and BAS data.
• Program, tune, and adjust setpoints per LONG standards.
• Calibrate and troubleshoot control systems and equipment.
• Update drawings and submit redlines to engineers.
• Instruct client personnel on operation and maintenance of HVAC controls.
• Assist with graphics, alarming, and system integration updates.
• Become proficient in Clockworks Platform for diagnostics.
• Create dashboards and visualizations tailored for clients and analytics team.
• Review diagnostics and communicate solutions; track tasks to resolution.
• Pursue deeper product knowledge and identify business opportunities.
• Prepare pricing and T&M estimates for small projects.
• On-call work may be required.
