Job summary

LONG Building Technologies is seeking a Controls Service Technician III in Cheyenne, WY to support our commercial HVAC controls service. You will diagnose faults, optimize building systems, program controls, and mentor junior technicians in a team environment.

You will work with FDD platforms, Clockworks, and dashboards, while delivering high-quality service, updates to drawings, and direct customer support. A tech-level degree and BAS experience are preferred.

Qualifications

• Associate degree from a tech school or service experience equivalent.
• 5+ years of DDC/BAS control system construction or service experience.
• 4+ years in a customer-facing role.
• 2+ years of DDC/BAS programming and integration.
• Ability to operate a company vehicle legally.
• Experience with commercial HVAC control systems and installation.
• Knowledge of BACnet, Modbus, LON communication protocols.
• Ability to read complex control diagrams and drawings.
• In-depth HVAC system understanding and problem-solving skills.
• Proficiency with IT assets in building automation environments.

Responsibilities

• Utilize FDD platform to evaluate faults and optimize performance.
• Analyze programming logic and optimize SoO for faults.
• Determine best actions from FDD findings and BAS data.
• Program, tune, and setpoint adjustments per LONG standards.
• Calibrate and troubleshoot control systems for operation.
• Update drawings and provide as-built documentation.
• Instruct client personnel on operation and energy optimization.
• Assist with graphics, alarms, and integration updates as needed.
• Become proficient in Clockworks Platforms for diagnostics.
• Create and manage dashboards tailored to client needs.
• Review diagnostics and communicate solutions to stakeholders.
• Pursue deeper product knowledge and skills.
• Alert managers to additional business opportunities.
• Prepare pricing and T&M estimates for small projects.
• Perform preventative maintenance to minimize failures.
• Diagnose complex issues and rectify to LONG standards.
• Program databases to meet sequences of operation.
• On-call work may be required; other duties assigned.
