Job summary

Vertiv is seeking a Principal Engineer, DC Power to lead design of DC power distribution architectures for data center environments. You will translate customer specs into technical requirements, produce layouts for customers and executives, and optimize power solutions for efficiency and reliability.

Ideal candidates have 7+ years in power systems design with DC distribution expertise, strong electronics knowledge, and familiarity with IEEE, NFPA, UL, and NEC standards.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
• 7+ years of experience in power systems design, preferably in data center environments.
• Expert knowledge of DC power distribution systems and architectures.
• Strong understanding of power electronics and conversion technologies.
• Familiarity with industry standards (IEEE, NFPA, UL, NEC).
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent project management and communication abilities.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop DC power distribution architectures.
• Translate complex customer specifications into clear technical requirements and project objectives.
• Create technical layouts and presentations for customers as well as executive leadership.
• Analyze power requirements and optimize solutions for efficiency and reliability.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams on power infrastructure projects to promote One Vertiv solutions.
• Evaluate and recommend emerging technologies according to market research trends.
• Ensure compliance with safety standards and industry regulations.
