Job summary

Foley seeks a Senior Database Administrator to own the reliability, security, and performance of cloud-based data platforms. You will lead the AWS data warehouse operations (SQL Server/Redshift) and partner with Engineering, Product, and Analytics to scale data systems securely as the business grows.

You will drive HA/DR, implement automation, and apply AI-enabled tools to reduce manual work while maintaining enterprise-grade protections.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of experience managing production database environments.
• Deep expertise in Microsoft SQL Server, including performance tuning, indexing and HA/DR.
• Strong hands-on experience with AWS data warehouse technologies, including Amazon Redshift.
• Proven experience managing database security, access controls, and permissions in regulated or security-conscious environments.
• Comfortable working cross-functionally with Product, Infrastructure, Engineering, and leadership teams.
• Demonstrated AI fluency and curiosity, with automation/AI-enabled tooling to improve reliability or efficiency.

Responsibilities

• Own database reliability, performance, and availability.
• Lead administration, monitoring, tuning, and optimization of SQL Server and Redshift environments.
• Design and maintain high availability, backup, and disaster recovery strategies meeting SLAs.
• Own and optimize our AWS-based data warehouse architecture for performance and cost.
• Partner with Data/Analytics teams to support reporting and AI use cases.
• Collaborate with Infrastructure/Security to ensure compliance and secure access controls.
• Drive automation, scripting, and proactive monitoring to improve reliability.
