Job summary

COMMON - A Users Group is seeking a highly experienced Database Administrator with deep expertise in DB2 for z/OS and enterprise mainframe environments to support mission-critical database infrastructure for our customer.

This advanced-level role requires extensive experience managing, optimizing, supporting, and recovering large-scale production databases, with onsite Tallahassee operations and a long-term contract.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of combined database administration experience involving: DB2 for z/OS, Oracle, and SQL Server.
• Advanced knowledge of DB2 for z/OS administration, performance tuning, upgrades, and recovery.
• Deep familiarity with IBM z/OS and related mainframe tooling.

Responsibilities

• Perform daily database administration and operational support across DB2, SQL Server, Oracle, and GIS environments.
• Plan, design, implement, and support enterprise database structures.
• Monitor and tune database performance.
• Support DB2 for z/OS upgrades, catalog maintenance, and point-in-time recovery.
• Review SQL code and provide database optimization recommendations.
• Develop and maintain DBA procedures and technical documentation.
• Support infrastructure implementation and change-management activities.
• Assist with disaster recovery planning and technical validation.
• Train and mentor other technical staff.

Engagement: Long Term Contract

We’re seeking a highly experienced Database Administrator with deep expertise in DB2 for z/OS and enterprise mainframe environments to support mission-critical database infrastructure for our customer. This is an advanced-level DBA opportunity for someone who has extensive experience managing, optimizing, supporting, and recovering large-scale production database environments.

What You’ll Do

• Perform daily database administration and operational support across DB2, SQL Server, Oracle, and GIS environments
• Plan, design, implement, and support enterprise database structures
• Monitor and tune database performance
• Support DB2 for z/OS upgrades, catalog maintenance, and point-in-time recovery
• Review SQL code and provide database optimization recommendations

Required Experience
