Salt River Project in Tempe, AZ, seeks a Senior Short Term Trader to develop, evaluate, and submit SRP's day-ahead market position, balancing customer demand with the generation portfolio. You will perform load forecasting, market bidding, and risk management across SRP's markets, collaborating with internal teams and external partners.

The role requires strong analytical skills and knowledge of wholesale electricity markets, with flexibility to work weekends and holidays.

Qualifications

• Experience in power trading, scheduling, generation planning, and market operations.
• Knowledge of wholesale electricity markets, congestion management, and day-ahead/real-time markets.
• Ability to forecast load, renewable generation, and market prices with portfolio impact awareness.

Responsibilities

• Develop, review, and submit SRP's day-ahead market position, including bids and self-schedules.
• Create load forecasts, generation plans, and resource commitment recommendations.
• Develop bidding strategies for thermal, renewable, hydro, and storage resources.
• Coordinate with internal/external stakeholders and manage market risk exposure.
• Support settlement validation, P&L analysis, and market performance assessments.
