Job summary

Southwest Power Pool seeks a Day-Ahead Operator across Sr, III, II or I levels to monitor and execute market functions and reliability tasks in a 24/7 rotating shift.

You will develop situational awareness, apply market rules, and support Day-Ahead Market, DARUC, and MDFC operations while advancing responsibilities with experience. Eligible for a hybrid/onsite environment with robust benefits.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Sr. Day-Ahead Operator - 8 years combined experience as Operator I/II or equivalent.
• Day-Ahead Operator III - 3 years combined experience.
• Day-Ahead Operator II - 1 year experience.
• Day-Ahead Operator I - NERC System Operator certification or ability to secure within 3 months.

Responsibilities

• Manage market functions for hedging price volatility and scheduling one day in advance.
• Drive resource commitments to meet system needs for the current day and one day ahead.
• Provide non-binding energy prices and commitments up to 4 days in advance.
• Learn tariff and market rules as appropriate.
• Assist with ad-hoc projects and analyses as needed.
• Mentor staff and lead team coordination as Sr level.
