Job summary

Southwest Power Pool is seeking a Day-Ahead Operator to join our 24/7 operations team in Arkansas. You will manage day-ahead market functions, drive reliability unit commitments, and support the Multi-day Forecast, gaining exposure to tariff rules and market protocols.

The role emphasizes teamwork, mentoring, and process improvements, with a rotating shift schedule and opportunities to advance from Operator I to Sr levels while ensuring reliable power delivery in our Integrated Marketplace.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• NERC System Operator certification or the ability to obtain within three months.
• Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering or related field preferred.

Responsibilities

• Manage Day-ahead Market functions and bid schedules one day ahead.
• Drive Day-ahead Reliability Unit Commitment to meet system needs.
• Support and run primary desk functions using available tools.
• Mentor staff and lead team coordination at Sr level.
