Job summary

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a quantitative, technical, or business-related field.
• Three years of related experience or equivalent education in energy markets or analytical environments.
• Proven verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to analyze information and make decisions using quantitative reasoning.
• Proficiency with computer systems, databases, software applications, and related tools.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and rotate shifts.
• Must qualify on the gas desk within six months of hire.

Responsibilities

• Project system load requirements and commit economical APS resources.
• Monitor and analyze on-line generation to ensure adequate reserves.
• Maintain skills to operate Real Time positions and share knowledge with teammates.
• Analyze real-time market conditions; negotiate and purchase economical energy sources.
• Ensure interconnection agreements and guidelines are met.
• Document all transactions and communications accurately.
• Develop and present real-time marketing strategies to leadership.
• Represent APS professionally with other units and companies.
• Own the safe, reliable, and compliant shift culture and use tools to ensure timely communication.
• Ensure environment meets safety, proficiency, behavior, morale, and training standards.
