Job summary

Superhuman Labs, Inc. is seeking a Software Engineer to join the Platform team. You will help shape the foundational storage layer, enabling the table, grid, and view components that power the Superhuman Docs platform.

Responsibilities include contributing to a distributed storage engine, optimizing query planning, and collaborating with teams across engineering, product, and design to build fast, secure, and scalable data systems for non-technical users.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of industry experience with at least 5 on relevant technologies.
• Deep experience building or contributing to storage/database internals—query execution, index management, storage engines, or transaction layers.
• Understanding data layout, serialization formats and access patterns beyond API usage.

Responsibilities

• Contribute to and grow into technical leadership on the structured data storage layer (cell storage, index management, view materialization, query execution).
• Improve platform handling of large, complex tables at scale (hydration, compaction, cache invalidation, data lifecycle through the sync pipeline).
• Work on server-side query planning for database-backed tables to push operations toward the storage layer.
