Job summary

United States Digital Space LLC in New York is seeking a Platform Engineering leader to design and scale core data storage, streaming, caching, and indexing platforms. You will guide architecture and work with stakeholders while mentoring engineers across cloud and distributed systems.

You will drive modernization of development practices, collaborate with multiple teams to deliver features, and help set standards for performance, reliability, and cost efficiency in large-scale data ecosystems.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of full-time engineering experience after graduation in back-end systems.
• Experience with MongoDB, Postgres, Kinesis, Flink, Spark.
• Experience with ElasticSearch, Redis, Trino, Presto, Snowflake.
• Proven track record mentoring and leading engineering teams.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
• Experience with Kubernetes and public cloud platforms.
• Deep understanding of distributed systems, cloud and data platforms.
• Ability to drive cross-functional collaboration.

Responsibilities

• Drive architecture, design, implementation, and reliability of our foundational data platforms and systems, working closely with stakeholders and internal customers to understand and refine requirements.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define, design, and deliver new features.
• Proactively identify opportunities for, and driving improvements to, current programming practices, including process enhancements and tool upgrades.
• Present technical information to teams and stakeholders, providing guidance and insight on development processes and technologies.
• Provide technical leadership, including: upholding and upleveling engineering standards across the organization, mentoring junior engineers.
