Job Title: Database Architect and Administrator

The Database Architect and Administrator is a senior, hands-on lead and a technical point of contact for customers and the engineering team. The role involves planning, implementing, and supporting complex storage, compute, and backup solutions. The ideal candidate must have experience in:

• Database administration across multiple technologies, including VMWare Tanzu Greenplum, Postgres, Oracle, and MS SQL
• System administration across various platforms such as MS, VMWare, Dell, Ansible, and RedHat/Linux

Primary Position Tasks

• Support the engineering team in planning activities
• Prioritize work to meet project deadlines
• Perform hands-on engineering across database and system technologies
• Develop and support technical documentation for support, training, and transition phases
• Maintain documentation of policies, procedures, and configurations
• Apply technical knowledge and consult with customers and team members effectively

Minimum Education/Experience

• Associate’s Degree in IT, Computer Science, or related field, or equivalent experience
• 10-15 years supporting enterprise IT operations
• At least 5 years in system administration and database management, including analysis, installation, and maintenance
• Strong security understanding and remediation skills
• Self-starter with the ability to operate independently

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with Greenplum in large-scale enterprise environments
• Active MBI and a company laptop/PC with the IRS
• Familiarity with IRS lifecycle and programs like RRP
• Experience with Greenplum version 6 deployment on RHEL systems
• Proficiency with Greenplum management tools and client utilities
• Experience supporting full lifecycle management and consulting
