Job summary

Illinois Secretary of State is seeking a Data Systems Administrator – IT Device Operations in Springfield, IL. The role leads device-related services across the Technology Office, managing lifecycle, configuration, security, and governance of desktops, laptops, mobile devices, and telecom endpoints.

The Senior Manager will ensure adherence to IT process standards, enterprise architecture, and security frameworks, delivering measurable IT service today and into the future.

Qualifications

• Requires a four-year college degree with coursework in computer science, MIS, math or statistics.
• Master's degree in CS or related field and two years of managerial experience in a computer-based MIS preferred.

Responsibilities

• Oversee incident, request, problem, change, asset and CMDB processes for device and telecom services; ensure SLA compliance and dashboard reporting.
• Align device operations to IT4IT value streams and standardize lifecycle processes for device consistency and recoverability.
• Maintain compliant endpoint configurations (CIS baselines, encryption, patching) and lead security remediation and vulnerability response.
• Oversee image development, application packaging, software deployment, and OS lifecycle; manage patching strategy and KPI-driven updates.
• Oversee deployment, support and lifecycle management of desktops, laptops, tablets, printers, scanners and peripherals; ensure statewide standards and service quality.
