Job summary

Illinois Secretary of State is seeking an Information Systems Advisor II to provide senior technical leadership for the agency’s enterprise data operations and data pipelines from Springfield, IL. Qualifications

• Requires completion of two years of college with CS coursework and 4.5 years of experience in technical systems, programming, and IT project management, including at least 1 year of supervisory experience.

Responsibilities

• Provides technical direction for enterprise data operations including ingestion pipelines, ETL/ELT workflows, scheduling, monitoring, and failure recovery.
• Supervises data operations engineers, ETL specialists, and support personnel; assigns work, reviews deliverables, and conducts evaluations.
• Ensures compliance with NIST-aligned controls and statewide cybersecurity policies; coordinates with cybersecurity and governance teams on data handling.
• Coordinates with Data Governance, Data Analytics, Application Development and Infrastructure teams to support integrated workflows and incident management.
• Establishes KPIs for pipeline uptime, latency, and data freshness; leads automation, performance tuning, and standardization efforts.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
