Job summary

Persona is seeking a Senior Software Engineer for the Online Data Stores team. You’ll build and evolve high-performance, scalable data stores powering our applications. Remote-first Infrastructure, cross-border collaboration, and a focus on reliability and cost-efficiency define the role.

You’ll work with MySQL, MongoDB, Elasticsearch, Redis, and Google Cloud, design data models, and mentor engineers as the platform scales to support more customers.

Qualifications

• BA/BS in computer science, software engineering or equivalent.
• 5+ years of software engineering with large-scale distributed data systems.
• Experience with MySQL, MongoDB, Elasticsearch, Redis.
• Experience with Google Cloud or equivalent cloud providers.
• Strong knowledge of data consistency, replication, partitioning, high availability.
• Experience with infrastructure-as-code and Kubernetes.
• Ruby, Go, Python or Java; Ruby on Rails preferred.
• Strong problem-solving and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain high-performance, scalable data stores across our application stack.
• Collaborate with infrastructure, platform, and application teams to optimize storage for performance, reliability, and cost.
• Implement data modeling, monitoring, and incident response best practices.
• Contribute to automation, observability, and capacity planning for operational excellence.
• Mentor junior engineers and participate in architectural discussions.
