Job summary

HDR is a leading firm delivering data-driven solutions across power, water, and infrastructure. We seek a strategic Data Steward to define, share, and reuse data across Business Groups, enabling better decisions, reuse, and delivery excellence.

This leadership role reports to the Resources Business Group Technology Director and collaborates with HDR Data Operations and the Technology Leadership Team to define data standards and governance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in architecture, engineering, data science, business, computer science, or related discipline or equivalent related experience.
• At least 10 years of experience in a related field.
• Experience leading diverse teams and developing data-focused solutions.
• Ability to work with leaders, operations managers, technical directors and marketing managers.
• Committed to HDR values and an active participant in our employee-owned culture.
• Experience in the architecture, engineering, and construction industry is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the RBG data point of contact and leverage SME expertise from our Business Classes and Practices.
• Develop and maintain data glossary(es) for key engineering and technical terms with business context.
• Use your technical network to build alignment around data processes, priority, and use.
• Promote consistent, responsible use of technical data, including access, data quality, formatting, and reuse.
• Support governance of externally sourced datasets (access, approvals, inventory awareness, storage, lifecycle).
• Lead a RBG SME network to align practices and share lessons learned across business classes and practices.
• Promote data fluency across the RBG.
• Regularly collaborate with BG Data Stewards, BG and Enterprise Data Science Teams, and Enterprise Data Operations staff.
