Job summary

Databricks is seeking a Sr. Solutions Engineer to independently lead technical engagements, owning discovery, solution design, and platform demonstrations.

You are a builder who can code, architect, and present—combining technical depth with customer-facing skills to drive Databricks adoption. You will own frontline customer relationships and work with your Account Executive to grow platform usage, while contributing reusable assets to the broader SA community.

Qualifications

• 4+ years in data engineering, solutions architecture, technical pre-sales, or hands-on consulting.
• Proficient in Python and SQL with ability to debug, optimize, and write production-quality code; live coding during interview.
• Hands-on experience designing data solutions on at least one public cloud (AWS, Azure, or GCP).
• Knowledge of distributed data systems: Spark, Delta Lake, Hadoop, Kafka, or Flink.
• Experience leading technical customer conversations—discovery, whiteboarding, architecture reviews.
• Familiarity with data engineering, data science/ML, or SQL analytics.
• Strong presentation and demo skills; you will build and present a live solution during the interview.
• Bachelor's or Master's degree in CS, Engineering, or a quantitative discipline (or equivalent).

Responsibilities

• Lead technical discovery and solution design for customer workloads in data engineering, analytics, and ML.
• Build and deliver proofs-of-concept and live demos to drive technical wins.
• Own frontline technical relationships with customer engineers and data teams.
• Develop account-level technical strategies with Account Executive to grow platform usage.
• Navigate competitive landscapes with hands-on demonstrations to show differentiation.
• Contribute reusable technical assets to the SA community.
