News Corp's Dow Jones Energy Commercial Product Management team in Houston, TX is seeking a Senior Data Analyst to support performance, revenue management, customer analytics, sales operations, product strategy, and executive decision-making through advanced analytics on large datasets.

Qualifications

3+ years of professional experience in data analytics, commercial analytics, financial analysis, market research, or a related analytical role.
Advanced Microsoft Excel proficiency, including complex formulas, PivotTables, XLOOKUP, INDEX/MATCH, SUMIFS, nested logic, and data manipulation, plus experience with VBA, Excel Macros, or Power Query
Experience with Python (including Pandas for data analysis and automation)
Experience with one or more: BigQuery, Snowflake, SQL Server, Athena, or other cloud or data warehouse platforms
Experience with one or more: Power BI, Looker Studio, Tableau, or comparable BI platforms
Experience with B2B data or information, industry analysis, and/or applied software products (highly desirable)
Domain knowledge in chemicals/energy or related industry areas
An interest in pursuing product management and leveraging analytical skills while expanding product management capabilities
Bachelor’s degree in Data Analytics, Mathematics, Statistics, Economics, Finance, Business, Computer Science, or another related quantitative field, or equivalent work experience

Responsibilities

Own end-to-end reporting for the Book of Business (ACV, renewals, new business, win/loss), including bottoms-up financial models, scenario analysis, and churn diagnostics to inform pricing, budgeting, and revenue retention strategies
Query, transform, and aggregate complex datasets across multiple source systems using optimized SQL to resolve data discrepancies and ensure unified cross-system reporting integrity
Build rigorous validation processes, data cleansing protocols, and repeatable quality assurance checks to maintain accuracy and reliability across core business metrics
Design and maintain scalable, user-friendly Power BI and Looker Studio dashboards providing actionable visibility into product performance, sales activity, customer health, and financial KPIs for non-technical stakeholders
Streamline recurring workflows using SQL, Python, and Excel tools including VBA and Power Query, while evaluating AI/BigQuery approaches to expand self-service analytics and reduce manual reporting dependency
Translate product adoption, API or web activity, and usage data into customer health scores and engagement metrics to support Sales and Account Management in mitigating churn risk
Conduct product performance and entitlement analyses to assess pricing packages, support new product launches, and inform portfolio optimization or sunsetting initiatives
Partner with Sales, Finance, Product, and executive leadership, communicating complex methodologies and managing ad-hoc analytical priorities to support business decisions
