Job summary

Verizon is seeking a Principal Engineer to lead data engineering within the Data Engineering Services team. You will architect, build, and maintain data pipelines, ingresses/egresses, and downstream feeds critical to enterprise identity and workforce data.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience required.
• Six+ years of relevant experience in enterprise data platforms.
• Experience administering enterprise relational databases and designing schemas.
• Hands-on experience with data ingestion, schema changes, and downstream data consumers.

Responsibilities

• Lead the design and implementation of data ingress and egress pipelines.
• Administer and optimize relational databases backing the platform.
• Onboard and maintain inbound data feeds from identity/workspace systems.
• Build and maintain applications and services for ingestion workflows.
• Develop and maintain API integrations for data exchange.
• Create automation scripts for file transfer and orchestration.
• Support downstream identity data feeds with schema-compliant delivery.
• Define coding standards and data quality controls.
• Partner with leadership to align data initiatives with business goals.
• Collaborate with peer teams to anticipate feed changes and improve the platform.
• Understand identity lifecycle and provisioning processes to shape pipelines.
