Job summary

Verizon is seeking a Principal Engineer to own end-to-end data lifecycle within our enterprise data platform in Irving, TX. You will architect and build pipelines, manage feeds from SailPoint/Workday, and mentor a team while applying AI-assisted tools to improve design and troubleshooting.

You will lead data ingestion, API integration, and automation across multiple systems, ensuring data quality, performance, and reliability for identity and workforce processes.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or 4+ years of work experience.
• 6+ years of relevant experience demonstrated through work or military or training.
• Experience administering enterprise relational databases with schema design and performance tuning.
• Ingesting, validating, and managing structured data feeds with diverse sources.
• Automation scripting for process orchestration in an enterprise context.
• Software development skills in C#, Java, or Python.
• REST API integration experience for data exchange in ETL/ELT workflows.
• Ability to leverage AI-assisted development tools to accelerate coding and automation.

Responsibilities

• Lead design and implementation of data ingress/egress pipelines for the enterprise data platform.
• Administer and optimize relational databases, including schemas and indexing for large-scale workloads.
• Onboard and maintain inbound data feeds from identity/workforce systems such as SailPoint and Workday.
• Design and maintain ingestion workflows, batch processing, and API integrations.
• Develop automation scripts for file transfer, scheduling, and monitoring.
• Support downstream identity data feeds and ensure schema compliance.
• Define coding standards, data quality controls, and Runbooks.
• Collaborate with senior leadership on feed roadmaps and integration priorities.
