Job summary

Verizon is seeking a Senior Data Leader to design, build, and optimize our enterprise data architecture, driving strategic insights and high-impact decisions. You will lead end-to-end data pipelines, manage cloud data warehouses, and integrate DevOps into our data ecosystem.

You’ll mentor juniors, collaborate with cross-functional partners, and evolve data capabilities to stay ahead of technology trends. This remote role offers flexible work with occasional trainings.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or 4+ years of work experience.
• Six+ years of relevant experience required, demonstrated through work or military experience or specialized training.
• Five+ years of hands-on ETL/ELT data pipeline development experience.
• Demonstrated experience in Data Modeling, Data Warehousing, and System Architecture.
• Expert-level proficiency in SQL and Python.
• Hands-on expertise with cloud platforms (AWS and/or GCP).

Responsibilities

• Designing and building scalable ETL/ELT data pipelines from diverse source systems to cloud platforms.
• Architecting robust data models (conceptual, logical, physical) to support reporting, analytics, and applications.
• Managing and modernizing enterprise data storage across legacy warehouses (e.g., Teradata) and cloud platforms.
• Implementing DevOps and CI/CD best practices for data pipelines.
• Optimizing SQL queries and Python scripts to improve throughput and reduce latency.
• Evaluating and integrating innovative data technologies, including AI/ML automation, into the data stack.
