Job summary

GovCIO is seeking a highly experienced Data Security Analyst — Master to lead the design, implementation, and operation of enterprise security controls protecting data, networks, and cloud environments.

You will work primarily with Palo Alto Networks products including Panorama, Cortex, and Strata, and collaborate with Cisco security technologies to ensure policy compliance and incident response readiness.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree and 12+ years in cybersecurity, network security, or security operations.
• Extensive hands-on firewall administration in enterprise environments.
• Deep expertise with Palo Alto next-generation firewalls.
• Experience with Panorama for centralized policy administration and HA workflows.
• Experience with Palo Alto Strata, including App-ID, User-ID, and Content-ID.
• Experience with Cortex for detection, investigation, and automation.
• Strong Cisco networking background and security technologies such as Secure Firewall/Firepower and ISE.
• Familiarity with security frameworks (NIST, CIS, ISO 27001, PCI DSS, HIPAA, SOX).
• Excellent written and verbal communication for technical and nontechnical stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Architect, deploy and optimize Palo Alto firewalls across data center, campus, and cloud environments.
• Lead centralized firewall management using Palo Alto Panorama.
• Design and maintain security policies with least privilege and application-aware controls.
• Deploy Cortex for security analytics and EDR/IR capabilities.
• Collaborate with Cisco teams to integrate secure routing, VPN, and switching.
• Review and document firewall and network-security changes.
• Perform regular firewall rulebase reviews and risk assessments.
• Maintain network security diagrams and runbooks.
• Coordinate with SOC, IR, Cloud, and Governance teams on remediation plans.
