Job summary

The Hertz Corporation is hiring a Senior Data Scientist to advance data-driven decision making across operations, revenue, and fleet management. You will lead model development from framing through deployment, building scalable solutions that improve forecasting, maintenance planning, and customer experience.

Qualified candidates have a Master’s or PhD in a related field and 5+ years of data science experience, including PySpark and Databricks.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree preferred; PhD in related field.
• 5+ years of data science experience with impactful projects.
• Experience in rental/car/transport/hospitality industries preferred.
• Strong Python and SQL for data analysis and automation.
• 3+ years of end-to-end ML model development: framing, EDA, features, deployment.
• Experience with large datasets and PySpark.
• Hands-on with Databricks and dashboards.
• LLMs to connect data sources is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Lead end-to-end model lifecycle from framing to monitoring.
• Build scalable models for repeatable decision-making across products and processes.
• Improve forecasting, fleet planning, vehicle turnaround, and customer satisfaction.
• Create leadership-ready data stories that explain the why and guide decisions.
• Partner with Product, Operations, Revenue, and Fleet teams to drive value.
• Develop MVPs, test quickly, and iterate to unlock business value.
• Mentor junior data analysts and foster a culture of learning.
• Stay current on data science methods and industry trends.
