Job summary

Hertz is seeking a senior data scientist to develop best practices in analytics and ML, driving actionable insights and strategic decisions across the organization. You will collaborate with data engineers, analysts, software developers, and product managers to deliver data-driven products and services.

The role focuses on leveraging advanced analytics to understand product performance, improve efficiency, and support proactive decisions for digital, connected fleet, pricing, and ridesharing

Qualifications

• Minimum of 5 years hands-on experience in a data science or data analytics role.
• Minimum 2 years of intensive experience with cloud-based Big Data, ML and Analytics technologies, preferably Databricks.
• Experience with event-driven architectures and analytics on streaming data (BigQuery a plus).
• Experience with Data Visualization tools such as Tableau.
• Strong SQL and ability to work with structured and semi-structured data.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills.
• Bachelor's degree or higher in Computer Science or quantitative fields.

Responsibilities

• Apply analytical and machine learning techniques to uncover patterns in large, complex datasets.
• Define success and performance metrics for initiatives, focusing on A/B tests.
• Design and maintain robust ETL processes to ensure data integrity and accessibility.
• Build descriptive, predictive, and prescriptive models to measure product performance.
• Define and implement best practices to generate accurate analytics, reports, dashboards.
• Integrate data from internal and external sources for detailed reports and datasets.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to translate needs into actionable insights and influence strategy.
• Guide leaders with analytics to support smooth execution.
• Oversee upkeep and optimization of ETL pipelines and dashboards.
