Job summary

The Hertz Corporation is seeking a Senior Data Scientist to drive data science initiatives within the Data Science & Insights team. You will lead end-to-end model lifecycles, build scalable models, and collaborate across Product, Operations, Revenue Management, and Fleet to enable data-driven decisions.

Requirements include a Master’s degree (Ph.D. preferred), 5+ years in data science, expertise in Python/SQL, and 3+ years of end-to-end machine learning development.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree preferred; Ph.D. in Data Science, Statistics, CS or Math.
• 5+ years of data science experience with impactful projects.
• Strong Python and SQL for data analysis and automation.
• 3+ years end-to-end ML development from framing to deployment.
• Experience with large datasets and PySpark a plus.
• Databricks cloud experience and dashboards a plus.
• LLMs to connect data sources is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Lead end-to-end model lifecycle from framing to monitoring.
• Build scalable models supporting decisions across products and processes.
• Improve forecasting, fleet planning, and customer satisfaction.
• Create leadership-ready data stories for decisions.
• Partner with Product, Operations, Revenue, and Fleet teams.
• Develop MVPs, test quickly, iterate to unlock value.
• Mentor junior analysts and promote learning.
