Job summary

Block is seeking a Data Scientist to help build and measure Risk and Support Operations analytics. You’ll partner with product, engineering, and risk teams to define metrics, evaluate experiments, and turn questions into clear decisions.

You will use AI tools and agent workflows to accelerate analysis and create scalable, reusable measurement frameworks across Support and Risk Operations. The role emphasizes rigorous data-driven impact across multiple teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree with 12+ years of experience OR graduate degree with 6-8+ years in a relevant role.
• Advanced proficiency with SQL and experience building clear, decision-oriented data visualizations.
• Strong product, analytical, and statistical judgment; ability to turn questions into analyses and communicate tradeoffs.
• Experience using AI tools to improve speed, quality, and durability of analytical work.

Responsibilities

• Turn complex product, customer, and risk data into clear insights, decision frameworks, and durable measurement systems.
• Use AI tools and agent workflows to speed up analysis and automate repetitive tasks.
• Own end-to-end execution across analysis, metrics definition, experimentation, forecasting, visualization, and decision support.
• Define measurement frameworks for Support and Risk Operations, including demand forecasting and staffing modeling.
• Partner with risk teams to evaluate model and policy performance and connect decisions to product impact.
• Design experiments, rollouts, and policy changes to shape customer access and product growth.
• Approach questions from first principles, using statistics to define cohorts and metrics.
• Communicate insights clearly to technical, product, and business stakeholders.
