Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a Senior Data Scientist for a fully remote role in a pioneering pharmaceutical company. You will apply advanced machine learning, statistical modeling, and data analysis to drug discovery and clinical trial datasets from home.

You will collaborate with R&D, clinicians, and bioinformaticians to deliver actionable insights, mentor junior data scientists, and help shape data science strategies across departments.

Qualifications

• Master's or PhD in quantitative field (CS, statistics, bioinformatics, math) or equivalent.
• 5+ years of professional Data Scientist experience in pharma/biotech.
• Proven programming skills in Python and/or R.
• Strong ML libraries experience (scikit-learn, TensorFlow, PyTorch).
• Proficiency in SQL and working with large relational databases.
• Solid understanding of statistics and experimental design.
• Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and implement statistical models and ML algorithms for large pharmaceutical datasets.
• Identify patterns to support drug discovery, target ID, and efficacy prediction.
• Develop predictive models for clinical trial outcomes and patient stratification.
• Collaborate with scientists, clinicians, and bioinformaticians to deliver impactful insights.
• Build data pipelines and analytical frameworks to ensure data quality and accessibility.
• Communicate findings clearly through reports, visualizations, and presentations.
• Stay current with advances in data science and pharma applications.
• Mentor junior data scientists and contribute to the data science practice.
