Job summary

VRChat Inc. is seeking a Senior Data Scientist to drive strategic product decisions across growth, user experience, creator, and economy verticals.

You will work with large production datasets, design experiments, and build durable analytical assets on a fast-paced, fully remote team. This role emphasizes strong SQL, Python/R skills, and translating insights into actionable recommendations while collaborating with engineering and product stakeholders.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in data science, product analytics, data analytics, quantitative analysis, or a related analytical role.
• Expert SQL skills and strong proficiency with Python or R for analysis, experimentation, modeling, automation, and reproducible workflows.
• Strong product sense with ability to translate ambiguous problems into analyses, metrics, experiments, and recommendations.
• Experience designing, analyzing, and interpreting experiments, including A/B tests and guardrail metrics.
• Experience building dashboards and self-serve analyses to support decision-making.
• Familiarity with AI-assisted analytical workflows and internal tooling.

Responsibilities

• Partner with cross-functional teams to define high-impact product questions and metrics.
• Analyze user behavior, creator activity, ecosystems, retention, growth, monetization, and social dynamics.
• Design and run experiments to evaluate product launches and initiatives.
• Define and improve core metrics, dashboards, and recurring reporting.
• Build reusable notebooks, data marts, and self-serve analysis templates.
• Collaborate with Data Engineering to improve data quality and instrumentation.
• Communicate findings clearly to technical and non-technical audiences.
