Job summary

PBG, a McLean-based federal government client support firm, seeks a Senior Data Scientist to lead advanced analytics for mission data. You will design models, validate methods, and partner with stakeholders to deliver data-driven policy insights.

You will develop dashboards and reports, ensure data quality, security, and accessibility, and provide senior analytical leadership for the client’s M&E data ecosystem. Hybrid work in the DC region is available.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in statistics, computer science, mathematics, or a related field.
• 5-10 years of relevant professional experience in data science, statistical modeling, and machine learning.
• Strong analytical and quantitative skills, including expertise in Python, R, and SQL.
• Demonstrated ability to design and implement complex analytical models for large data sets.
• Experience with business intelligence tools such as Power BI or Tableau.

Responsibilities

• Lead in-depth data analyses and visualizations, including trend analysis, predictive modeling, and forecasting.
• Design, validate, and refine statistical and machine-learning models for complex data.
• Establish methods, documentation, and quality checks for reproducible analyses.
• Partner with stakeholders to frame high-priority questions and develop data-driven solutions.
• Lead standardization and visualization of reporting from partners within a central database and dashboard ecosystem.
• Apply analytics to evaluate partner performance and generate quantitative evidence of success.
• Identify, analyze, integrate, and visualize publicly available data for humanitarian dashboards.
• Translate findings and model outputs into dashboards, reports, and decision-support products.
• Develop and maintain databases, data dictionaries, and documentation for data quality, security, and accessibility.
• Provide senior analytical leadership for monitoring and evaluation data ecosystem.
