Job summary

The Leading Niche is seeking a Data Scientist in Washington, DC to support the Department of State’s PRM Enterprise System. You will perform data analysis, visualization, reporting, and data management to inform policy and mission decisions.

Requirements include a bachelor’s or higher in a quantitative field, 3–5 years of data science experience, and proficiency in Python, R, SQL, and BI tools such as Power BI or Tableau. A secret clearance is required to operate within PRM projects.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Statistics, Computer Science, Mathematics, Data Science, Information Systems, or a related field.
• 3–5 years of relevant work experience in data science, data analysis, statistical analysis, or related analytical work.
• Experience with Python, R, and SQL.
• Experience with business intelligence tools such as Power BI, Tableau, or similar reporting and visualization platforms.
• Knowledge of data management best practices, including data quality and governance.

Responsibilities

• Conduct data analyses and visualizations to identify patterns, trends, relationships, and insights within programmatic, financial, humanitarian, and operational datasets.
• Analyze data to inform policy decisions, program decisions, partner performance assessments, and mission priorities.
• Translate stakeholder questions into structured analytical approaches and data-driven outputs.
• Use analytical methods to help PRM and other Department users understand program effectiveness, funding activity, and humanitarian conditions.
• Present findings in a clear, accurate, and actionable manner.
• Develop, maintain, and support dashboards, reports, visualizations, and analytical products using Power BI or Tableau.
• Support data quality, data governance, and documentation efforts.
