Job summary

The Walt Disney Company in Los Angeles is seeking a Senior Data Scientist to join the News & Entertainment ML Platform. You will perform EDA, run A/B tests, and help define metrics for Disney's brands and products.

Collaborate with ML engineers, translate findings into actionable recommendations, and ensure analyses are reliable and scalable to support personalized content delivery across Disney's portfolio.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Economics, or a related quantitative field or equivalent work experience.
• 5+ years of experience in data science, analytics, or a related field.
• Proficiency in Python, SQL, and PySpark for data analysis and manipulation.
• Working knowledge of statistical analysis and experimentation, including running and interpreting A/B tests.
• Experience with cloud data platforms such as AWS, Databricks, or Snowflake.

Responsibilities

• Exploratory Data Analysis: surface patterns and trends across user, content, and engagement data.
• A/B Test Execution & Analysis: run tests and summarize findings clearly for the team.
• Metric Tracking: help define and track success metrics and monitor model performance.
• Support for ML Engineering: collaborate on feature analysis and model evaluation.
• Insight Communication: translate analysis into actionable recommendations for the team.
• Statistical Analysis: apply statistics using Python, SQL, and PySpark; support behavioral analysis.
• Collaboration & Growth: work with product, design, and engineering on initiatives.
