Job summary

Disney Entertainment & ESPN Product & Technology in Glendale, CA seeks a Lead Data Scientist for the N&E ML Platform to bridge data and product decisions and drive personalized experiences across ABC News, ABC Entertainment, National Geographic, Marvel, and Disney Studios.

You will lead exploratory data analysis, design and evaluate experiments, define success metrics, collaborate with ML engineers, translate insights into product recommendations, and communicate results to stakeholders using

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in computer science, statistics, mathematics, economics, or a quantitative field; equivalent work experience welcome.
7+ years in data science/analytics, with direct partner collaboration with engineering and product teams.
Strong proficiency in Python, SQL, and PySpark for large-scale data analysis.

Responsibilities

Conduct Exploratory Data Analysis (EDA) across user/content/engagement data to derive insights for the N&E portfolio.
Design, implement, and evaluate A/B tests and other experiments to validate product changes.
Define success metrics and measure model performance; partner with ML Engineers on feature design and drift detection.
Translate data insights into clear product recommendations for roadmaps and prioritization.
Communicate findings to both technical and non-technical stakeholders; use Python, SQL, PySpark and Adobe Analytics for analysis.
