Job summary

Disney Entertainment & ESPN Product & Technology, Glendale, CA, is seeking a Senior Data Scientist to empower the N&E ML Platform. You will perform exploratory data analysis, run experiments, and ensure reliable measurement across Disney’s News & Entertainment portfolio.

You will collaborate with ML Engineers and cross‑functional partners to define metrics, interpret results, and translate insights into actionable recommendations for product and feature improvements.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a quantitative field or equivalent experience.
• 5+ years of experience in data science, analytics, or a related field.
• Proficiency in Python, SQL, and PySpark for data analysis.
• Experience with statistical analysis and experimentation (A/B testing).
• Ability to perform EDA and identify patterns in user behavior data.
• Experience with cloud data platforms (AWS, Databricks, Snowflake).
• Strong written and verbal communication; agile collaboration with partners.

Responsibilities

• Conduct exploratory data analysis on user, content, and engagement data to surface patterns for senior stakeholders.
• Run A/B tests and controlled experiments; summarize findings clearly for the team.
• Define and track success metrics; monitor model performance and escalate anomalies.
• Support ML Engineers with feature analysis and model evaluation for the assigned area.
• Translate analysis into clear findings and recommendations for product and roadmap discussions.
• Apply statistical analysis using Python, SQL, and PySpark; support behavioral analysis with analytics tools.
• Collaborate with product, design, and engineering partners and contribute to evolving experimentation and metrics design over time.
