Job summary

The Walt Disney Company is seeking a Lead Data Scientist to bridge data and product decisions for the News & Entertainment ML Platform. You will conduct exploratory data analysis, design experiments, and define success metrics with ML engineers and product teams.

You will translate data insights into concrete recommendations to improve user experience across Disney brands. Work will include feature design, drift detection, and model evaluation to drive measurable business impact across ABC News,

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Statistics, Mathematics, Economics, or a quantitative field.
• 7+ years of experience in data science, analytics, or related field with product/engineering collaboration.
• Strong proficiency in Python, SQL, and PySpark.
• Deep experience with AWS, Databricks, or Snowflake.
• Extensive statistical analysis and experimentation, including A/B testing.
• Demonstrated ability to conduct exploratory data analysis.

Responsibilities

• Exploratory Data Analysis across user, content, and engagement data.
• Design, implement, and evaluate A/B tests and controlled experiments.
• Define success metrics for ML features and measure performance.
• Collaborate with ML Engineers on feature design and model evaluation.
• Translate data insights into actionable product recommendations.
• Apply statistical analysis using Python, SQL, PySpark and analytics tools.
