Job summary

The Walt Disney Company is seeking a Senior Data Scientist to join the News & Entertainment ML Platform in Los Angeles. You will conduct exploratory analyses, run A/B tests, and work with ML engineers to evaluate features.

You will help define metrics and translate findings into actionable insights for product teams. You will use Python, SQL, and PySpark to analyze data, collaborate across product and engineering partners, and contribute to scalable, low-latency personalization across Disney’s

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in a quantitative field.
• 5+ years of data science, analytics, or related experience.
• Proficiency in Python, SQL, PySpark for data analysis.
• Strong understanding of statistics and experimentation (A/B tests).
• Experience with cloud data platforms (AWS, Databricks, Snowflake).
• Clear written and verbal communication; able to summarize findings for teams.
• Experience in Agile/Scrum environments with cross-functional partners.

• Perform exploratory data analysis on user, content, and engagement data.
• Plan and execute A/B tests; summarize results for the team.
• Define and monitor success metrics for features or product areas.
• Support ML engineers with feature analysis and model evaluation.
• Translate analyses into actionable recommendations for product and roadmap discussions.
• Apply Python, SQL, and PySpark to datasets; use Adobe Analytics for behavioral insights.
• Collaborate with product, design, and engineering on initiatives and growth of experimentation.
