Job summary

Sedgwick is seeking a Senior Data Scientist to partner with stakeholders, design data modeling processes, build predictive models, and share insights to guide business decisions.

You will mentor peers, work across product and technology teams, and design scalable ETL pipelines leveraging diverse data sources. Strong background in NLP and healthcare data is preferred for impact across the organization.

Qualifications

• Master's degree or Ph.D. in statistics, mathematics, computer science, data science, economics, or related quantitative field from an accredited college or university preferred.
• Ten years of related experience including three years in predictive modeling, data science, and analysis with data wrangling and feature engineering.
• Experience with natural language processing and healthcare data preferred.
• Proficiency writing code in Python or R and documenting for reproducibility.
• Strong SQL skills to query relational databases.
• Excellent oral and written communication and presentation skills.

Responsibilities

• Builds, prototypes, and deploys machine learning models in production environments.
• Collaborates with product, technology, and other stakeholders to identify and scope data science projects.
• Communicates modeling challenges, findings, and outcomes to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Designs and implements end-to-end ETL data pipelines integrating data from multiple data sources.
• Explores new internal and external data sources and assesses their commercial benefit.
• Mentors team members and serves as a subject matter expert in cross-functional discussions.
