Job summary

Sedgwick Claims Management Services Ltd is seeking a Principal Data Scientist to lead advanced modeling and analytics across claims, risk, and operations. The role focuses on designing and deploying ML solutions, guiding analytics strategy, and mentoring a team of data scientists.

You will partner with AI engineering and business stakeholders to productionize models, evaluate impact, and ensure governance. Expertise in ML, NLP, and causal inference is essential, with 8–12+ years in data science.

Qualifications

• Master’s or PhD in Data Science, Statistics, Mathematics, CS, Economics, or related field.
• 8–12+ years of experience in data science, statistics, or analytics roles.
• Deep expertise in ML algorithms and predictive analytics.
• Strong programming in Python, R, or similar languages.
• Experience deploying models in production environments.

Responsibilities

• Lead the design and development of advanced statistical and ML models for claims outcomes, efficiency, and risk.
• Serve as the technical authority for complex modeling initiatives including fraud detection and risk modeling.
• Develop predictive and prescriptive models using structured and unstructured data.
• Architect modeling approaches using gradient boosting, deep learning, NLP, and probabilistic methods.
• Productionize models with AI Engineering teams and integrate into platforms.
• Design feature engineering strategies and pipelines for large enterprise datasets.
• Establish best practices for model development, validation, and reproducibility.
• Mentor junior data scientists and translate analytical findings for leaders.
