The role requires strong SQL and Python, experience with online/offline ML models, and the ability to translate data into actionable stories for stakeholders. This is a remote-first role with quarterly in-person surges.

Qualifications

• BA/BS in a quantitative field with 5+ years of relevant experience, or a PhD with 3+ years.
• Proven experience leading data science projects tackling ambiguous problems.
• Ability to translate data learnings into compelling stakeholder narratives.
• Practical expertise applying advanced modeling to business problems.

Responsibilities

• Conduct analyses on ambiguous problems to guide decisions and actions.
• Build, tune, or measure ML models and AI systems used across Coinbase.
• Own data definitions, core logging, and data visualizations for teams.
• Guide code reviews, provide SQL and Python expertise, and maintain ETL jobs.
• Maintain statistical rigor through experimentation and causal analyses.
