Job summary

Coinbase is seeking a Data Scientist for the Retail Trading Data Science team. You will partner with Product, Engineering and Design to define metrics, design experiments, and develop models that influence product strategy and improve customer outcomes.

You will own data, guide analyses, craft visualizations, and communicate findings to senior leadership, applying rigorous experimentation and responsible AI tooling to drive measurable improvements in engagement and trading activity.

Qualifications

• BA/BS in a quantitative field or PhD with relevant experience.
• Proven data science projects solving ambiguous problems.
• End-to-end experimentation from design to analysis.
• Ability to translate data learnings into compelling stories.
• Experience applying modeling frameworks to business problems.
• Professional SQL and Python experience.

Responsibilities

• Conduct analyses and deep dives on ambiguous problems to guide decisions.
• Own data and metrics from core logging to visualizations.
• Guide code reviews and maintain ETL jobs with SQL and Python.
• Maintain statistical rigor and run experiments to build stakeholder confidence.
• Synthesize findings and communicate recommendations to senior leadership.
