Job summary

Chewy in Boston, MA is hiring a Data Scientist III to join the Marketing Science team onsite. You will build and deploy AI/ML solutions across the full model lifecycle, turning ideas into measurable marketing and customer impact.

You will own end-to-end data science work, develop predictive models, formalize assumptions, and collaborate with marketing to drive business outcomes. This role emphasizes rapid prototyping, productionization, and clear communication.

Qualifications

• Advanced degree or 5+ years designing ML solutions at scale.
• Strong ML/statistical foundations incl. Bayesian, regression, forecasting, causality.
• Proficiency in Python for proofs-of-concept and production.
• Experience translating business needs into AI opportunities for marketing.
• Proven ability to prototype quickly and deploy models to production.
• Excellent communication across technical and non-technical audiences.
• AI-native mindset with curiosity for latest AI tools.

Responsibilities

• Own end-to-end data science work from ideation to deployment and monitoring.
• Develop and ship predictive models (regression, forecasting, uplift, attribution).
• Formalize model assumptions, detect outliers, and implement improvements.
• Collaborate with marketing stakeholders to identify AI opportunities.
• Build internal AI copilots to automate workflows and speed campaigns.
• Monitor AI industry trends and identify new opportunities in e-commerce.
• Communicate insights clearly to technical and non-technical audiences.
