Job summary

McKinsey & Company seeks a Senior Data Scientist for its Life Sciences AI team, integrated with QuantumBlack. You will build AI to transform Pharma and MedTech, partnering with global teams to deploy production-ready analytics and agentic solutions across high-value use cases.

You will mentor colleagues, explore new technologies, and help clients modernize their commercial models with real-time insights. Strong Python and ML framework skills are essential.

Qualifications

• Master’s or PhD in CS/ML/AI or related field with strong research background.
• 5+ years deep technical ML experience including knowledge graphs, agents, and evaluation frameworks.
• Proficient in Python and ML libraries (pandas, NumPy, matplotlib, scikit-learn, PyMC, PyTorch/TensorFlow/Keras).
• Production-grade coding with GitHub version control.
• Extensive stack: Python, PySpark, PyData, SQL, Databricks, Kedro, Dask/RAPIDS, Docker, Kubernetes, AWS/GCP/Azure.
• Strong client-facing skills and ability to work in cross-functional teams.
• Excellent time management and a track record of leadership or mentoring.
• Strong presentation and communication skills; able to explain complex analytics clearly.
• Willingness to travel; fluent English in written and spoken form.

Responsibilities

• Partner with global teams to create advanced analytics and agentic solutions for Life Sciences.
• Transform pilots into production-ready systems across commercial workflows.
• Develop ML models, design agentic flows, evaluate outputs, and write optimized code.
• Mentor junior colleagues and support senior stakeholders in translating analytics into insights.
• Collaborate across diverse experts to deliver impactful innovations and real-world impact.
• Help clients modernize commercial engagement models and derive real-time insights.
