Job summary

Raytheon’s RTX division seeks a Senior Data Scientist to turn complex factory and test data into actionable insights. You will work with Engineering, Operations, Quality, and software teams to solve real manufacturing problems using statistics and machine learning.

Your role spans the full data science lifecycle, from exploring big datasets to deploying models that improve production decisions and quality.

Qualifications

• Requires a University degree or equivalent experience; advanced degree preferred.
• Professional experience using Python for data analysis, statistical modeling, or machine learning.
• Experience developing machine learning or analytical solutions beyond academic projects.
• Strong understanding of applied statistics and quantitative analysis.
• Experience with relational databases and SQL.
• Ability to communicate technical findings to technical and non‑technical stakeholders.
• Experience analyzing manufacturing, engineering, test, quality, or other complex datasets.
• U.S. Citizen with ability to obtain/maintain DoD security clearance.

Responsibilities

• Develop statistical and machine learning solutions addressing manufacturing, test, quality, and production challenges.
• Explore large datasets to identify patterns, drivers, anomalies, and improvement opportunities.
• Build and deploy Python-based analytical and ML applications used by engineers and factory teams.
• Collaborate with engineers, operators, and stakeholders to translate problems into practical data solutions.
• Develop visualizations and analytical tools to make data understandable and actionable.
• Help deploy, monitor, and maintain ML solutions in production environments.
• Mentor other data scientists and engineers; guide technical direction and best practices.
• Build domain expertise in factory/test data to identify new automation opportunities.
• Ensure solutions transition from notebook to production influencing engineering decisions.
