Job summary

RTX's Data, Analytics, and AI organization seeks a hands-on Software Engineer – Factory Intelligence to build applications and data-driven tools that help our engineering and factory teams better understand how products are built and tested.

As a member of the Factory Analysis Software Tools (FAST) team, you will develop software that turns complex manufacturing and test data into meaningful insights for Engineering, Operations, and Quality.

Qualifications

• Typically requires a University degree or equivalent experience and a minimum of 5 years of prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 3 years experience.
• Professional software development experience using at least one programming language such as Python, Java, C#, JavaScript/TypeScript, Perl, C, or a similar language
• Experience developing, testing, debugging, and maintaining software applications
• Experience working collaboratively to solve technical problems and deliver software solutions
• U.S. Citizen - The ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued security clearance is required. U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, test, and maintain applications that help users explore and understand factory and test data
• Develop data visualization and analytical tools that make complex manufacturing data easier to interpret
• Build Python and other software solutions to transform, standardize, and analyze data from a variety of engineering and test systems
• Develop and integrate applications with relational databases, APIs, and other enterprise systems
• Work directly with engineers, factory personnel, and other stakeholders to understand problems and turn them into effective software solutions
• Troubleshoot software, data, and process issues in production environments
• Contribute to application architecture, technical design, code reviews, and team development practices
• Learn the manufacturing and test processes behind the data and use that knowledge to identify opportunities for new capabilities
• Work collaboratively within an Agile software development team to deliver practical solutions to challenging technical problems
• This role provides an opportunity to work across both software engineering and data analytics while building tools that have a direct impact on manufacturing operations.
