Job summary

Databricks is seeking a Data Scientist on the Data Team to help build a data-driven culture and solve product and business challenges. You will contribute to segmentation, forecasting and insights while dogfooding Databricks platforms across teams.

You will collaborate with Engineering, Product Management, Sales and Customer Success to understand usage patterns, define analytics roadmaps, and drive data-driven decisions. You will mentor junior data scientists and present findings to executives.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of data science, ML, analytics experience in high velocity, high-growth companies.
• End-to-end development and deployment of data-driven products to solve business problems.
• Familiarity with product data science: tracking adoption, churn, cohorts, segmentation, funnels.
• Experience collaborating with stakeholders from Product, Sales, and Engineering.
• Strong coding skills in Python or Scala and software engineering principles.
• Proficient in data analysis and visualization using R and Python.
• Experience with distributed data processing systems and SQL.

Responsibilities

• Shape the direction of key data science areas: segmentation, recommendations, forecasting, product analytics, churn insights.
• Work with Engineering, PM, Sales and Customer Success to understand product usage and make data-driven decisions.
• Manage stakeholders: gather requirements, define OKRs and milestones, communicate progress.
• Mentor and guide junior data scientists on project planning and reviews.
• Represent the data science discipline across the organization as a data-driven voice.
• Build self-serve internal data products to simplify data access.
• Represent Databricks at academic and industry conferences and events.
