Job summary

NORC at the University of Chicago seeks a Senior Data Scientist II to provide day-to-day program management, data governance, and technical leadership for a large federal data access program.

You will coordinate cross-functional teams, ensure regulatory compliance, manage milestones, and engage federal sponsors and contractors across cloud environments. This role combines scientific expertise with program oversight and stakeholder engagement.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in bioinformatics, information systems, computer science, statistics, data science, health services research, economics, public health, or related field.
• Experience with large datasets, statistical modeling, and analytic programming.
• Experience managing teams of statisticians, data scientists, and subject matter experts.
• Experience in client communications and relationship management.

Responsibilities

• Lead day-to-day management of a secure health data access and management program.
• Serve as primary liaison with client, external partners and providers; manage cross-contractor dependencies.
• Provide technical and programmatic oversight of data and technology environments including secure cloud platforms.
• Coordinate delivery of record linkage services and researcher support across multiple contractors.
